21 Day Fix: Tips To Getting Started

Are you new to starting the 21 Day Fix this month? Or maybe you have access to it with the new Beachbody On Demand All Access Annual Pass online streaming service. From this 21 Day Fix Grad, there are a few things to know to getting started with the 21 Day Fix to make sure you are getting your best results possible! Make sure you bookmark or pin this post so that you can easily refer back to it during your next 21 Days!

To get started, first check out this video by the creator of 21 Day Fix- Autumn Calabrese for 7 simple tips to losing weight! WHAT DO YOU NEED TO GET STARTED? 

1) WEIGHTS- You will need to get a set or 2 of hand weights or resistance bands. A light set and a heavy set. For hand weights a 3 and a 5 pound pair or a 5 and an 8 pound set are good starting points (Target has some!). Resistance bands you will want to get can be found here! It is a light, medium and heavy resistance. 

2) TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS- You can download a measurement chart from the Beachbody On Demand 21 Day Fix workout page in the Getting Started section or just email yourself your measurements. Just keep track because that is where you going to see results first!

3) TAKE YOUR BEFORE PICTURES- Everyone hates doing these, and you do not have to show anyone but TAKE THESE PICTURES! You will be glad you did because you will actually SEE your results and see the changes that the scale might not reflect.

4) LEARN WHAT YOU CAN EAT- Get familiar with the 21 Day Fix Approved Foods list- These are foods you want to be eating all the time anyways because they are healthy whole foods. But PIN this picture so you can refer back to it often and see what foods are ok to eat!

5) PLAN YOUR MEALS- Figure out your calorie bracket and Start planning your weekly meals on a calendar! If you are part of my health and fitness FREE group you can print off a PDF copy in the group!

Love Yourself Fit

NO Excuses November

NOVEMBER! AH! It is almost November already! I made a promise to myself that I would give myself 4 weeks of leeway to my eating but beginning November 1 it was on like Donkey Kong! Time to get back into my 21 Day Fix Nutrition plan so that I can eat what my body needs to be healthy, feed Elyse the right kinds of food and also to help me lose weight safely. I have learned with past pregnancy recoveries that I have to eat right to lose weight while breastfeeding. I'm not in a hurry to be a specific weight, I just want to feel the best that I can. So to help me stay accountable and on track...My November group is NO EXCUSES NO-vember!

Sneak Peek Into A Challenge Group

Ever wonder what these "challenge groups"/support groups are all about? Well, here is a sneak peek into my challenge group. Everyday a main topic is posted with either tips, support, motivation, progress, challenges, or just plain old fun! We really try to engage with the challengers and help them learn a new way to see them through this journey. It isn't just about, "DID YOU DO YOUR WORKOUT?" Or screaming in your face to eat right. No, it is about helping you learn how to see food differently, or learn to react to different situations, like eating out. I posted this yesterday!

GOOD MORNING MOMS! Today I wanted to talk about those days that we just have to eat out. LIFE HAPPENS! Don't beat yourself up if you have to eat out but check out these tips to help you stay on track with your goals!

Tuesday's Health Tip: 6 tips to eating clean while eating out

1) Find local restaurants that have healthier options. Farm to table restaurants are amazing!
2) It is ok to ask what is used to prepare a meal or what ingredients are used
3) Look online to view menu options and nutritional information and plan ahead
4) Pay attention to portions. Don’t be afraid to eat half of your meal and take the rest home for lunch
5) Ask for healthier options. Most restaurants will be happy to cater to your needs
6) Eat a salad before your main meal, but be cautious of unhealthy dressings. Oil and vinegar dressings are usually a safe bet.

Each month has a theme to it and we try to be consistent with the theme during the month (notice these pictures are similar). The whole point of the group is to provide support, education, motivation, and a fun safe atmosphere for each person to be able to find what they need to make their changes to a healthier and fit lifestyle! Plus there are different types of groups, I have 2 ongoing groups. One for everyone that I work with or anyone that would like to join, (YOU CAN JOIN HERE!) and one for those who are actively pursuing their health and fitness goals (my exclusive group for those doing a workout combined with Shakeology). Both group offer different things and different levels of support. And for September and October I am also co-hosting groups to help with the late end of pregnancy and new baby. Don't Change Your Goals, Change Your Method

How many of you have set goals but haven't quite gotten there yet? Setting goals is the easy part. But reaching them, not so much. If you haven't reached your goal, DON'T CHANGE YOUR GOAL, change your method. Look at what you were doing each and every day. Were you doing your daily workout? Were you eating on point every single day or did a little temptation make it into your diet more often than you wanted it to? What about Shakeology? Did you drink that every single day?

Active Maternity on Beachbody On Demand

Last summer at Beachbody's annual conference, Summit, they announced that they were releasing a pregnancy workout. I was so excited. Hoping it would be similar to 21 Day fix, but it is just a little tease in a way. They released it on the online streaming through Beachbody, which is great, because I can just take my laptop and workout anywhere. And they gave us a workout for each of the different trimesters. YEA! how awesome! I am going to be trying it out this week. I am really excited to see what they have. And it is with my favorite, lover her and hate her trainer, Autumn Calabrese! Start This Week With The Decision To Try

Yeah, Christmas is Friday. And the last thing on your mind is probably getting in your workout or ditching the sweets and goodies. Here is the thing though guys. Spend the next 4 days eating as clean as possible and be sure to get in 30 minutes of some exercise in every day so that you can enjoy your Christmas and not feel guilty about eating yummy food, filling up your plate, and going back for seconds. 

Last year at this time. I didn't care what I ate. I had already gained weight since Thanksgiving. I was feeling sluggish. Gave up on Running. Gave up on myself. I didn't really care. I just wanted to enjoy the holiday and not deny myself what I know I like. But I felt awful. I had more to lose after the holidays and I was heavier than I had ever been not pregnant. Then I found out I was pregnant. Starting my pregnancy so heavy it scared me. 

This year I am taking care of myself. I know I am worth it to take care of myself. To give my body good foods that make me feel healthy. No more excuses. I am taking care of me and it is the best feeling in the world!
