January 2023 Coaching and Accountability Group

12 Days Of Fitmas FREE CHALLENGE!

 


🎄Are you ready for some FREE fitness fun this holiday season? 

You’re invited to the 12 Days of Fitmas - a FREE, 12 day challenge to commit to some fitness + fun during what may be the busiest 12 days of your year leading to Christmas. For 12 days ,📅 starting Monday, December 12th, (just 12 days away...see what I did there!) we will be counting down to Christmas by building a fitness circuit, healthier holiday treats, and lots of fun here in this group. Each day I will challenge you to complete a move for one minute- building up to a 12-minute workout by the end of the 12 days! Each day there will also be a daily check-in to keep you accountable for your fitness all season long! The workouts are equipment free - just you, a safe space to move + maybe a towel to wipe off the sweat after you SLEIGH each day of this challenge! 💪💦
From me, you can expect a morning post where you can check in with your #sweatyselfie each day. Along with my check-in post, we will have holiday recipes, tips, motivation, etc.. to keep things festive and fun! You will be expected to check into the group daily - the BEST way to get the most out of the community is to stay engaged!

Officially A Certified Nutrition Coach


Have you ever started on one path in life and enjoyed it so much you wanted to learn more? This first happened a few years ago. I had been doing the at home exercises and virtual coaching for awhile, not including this blog--  this started first. And one day I decided I wanted to learn more about why we did specific exercises, what some of the terms meant. That put me on the path to getting becoming a certified Personal Trainer, where I utilize my knowledge to help my clients with modifications, alternate or swapped moves to fit their journey. Plus it opened up doors on what I can and can't say on this blog. (Yes this was important for me. I wanted to be able to say, "do this" instead of wording like "I like doing" for me it was toeing a line.) 

Fast forward a couple years and I knew my next focus was going to be on nutrition. I mean, my first continuing education for my personal training was to become a certified mentor for both our nutrition programs we offer on Beachbody. But I wanted more. So...at the beginning of 2022 I decided it was going to be my nutrition learning year. Not knowing how much the gut healing program was going to change my life with losing 30+ pounds, that was a bit of luck it seems. But then came the registration and all the studying. I was going to do it. Become a certified Nutrition Coach! 

Took the test last Friday and PASSED!!! So, say hello to your newest Certified Nutrition Coach Personal Trainer! 

What does this mean? 

In my groups I already offer recipes weekly, but we also have weekly meal plans, with recipes and a grocery list. I can help you figure out your macros needed and nutrition information. I am NOT a Registered Dietician so there is a difference, but I can confidently assist you further in nutrition help, getting you started, and feeling confident in making changes to your mindset to help achieve your goals. But here's the skinny, I absolutely love our nutrition programs we offer in our virtual fitness library. 2 come completely included in your initial bundle kit, and the gut healing is an add on (but so very much worth it!) So these program and me working in tandem, that is the key! I'll show you how I incorporated these programs into my daily life and made them work. 30 Pounds and Counting GONE!


Guess what? 30 pounds! I’ve lost 30 pounds! (And I just posted about being down 29 pounds, but this is a BIG milestone!)

Real talk… traveling Europe in September — where I ate all the foods,  and then surgery recovery in October —where I wanted all the comfort food,  my goal was just to maintain. Which I did. But, the past few weeks I’ve really leaned back into my gut healing nutrition program and now I’m making progress again. (Including over Halloween) 


I finally found the NUTRITION program that works for me where I don’t feel restricted. Where I don’t feel like I’m missing out on any foods. Once I got the hang of it (takes a few weeks because you have to retain your habits!) it’s been easy to stay on. Here are a couple of my top tips for this program that have truly helped me!

1) Lots of water - at least half my body weight in ounces a day, at least

2) Eat the dang veggies - Find new ways to cook and prepare veggies. My air fryer has become my staple. Also don't be afraid to try new veggies or go back to old ones and try new ways to cook them. You might like them. Roasted fennel with a little olive oil, salt and pepper is a staple for me right now!

3) Fermented foods are necessary - sounds weird but adding in fermented foods 3 days a week have truly made an impact on me. Granted, I don't eat kimchi or sauerkraut, I opt for Kombucha.

4) I truly do have a gluten and dairy intolerance - Before this program I knew this, but I still was having greek yogurt all the time. Once I cut out all dairy and gluten, everything changed!

The Power Of Gut Healing


29 pounds down and counting! I’m so close to 30 pounds gone it’s almost unreal to me because I’ve been trying for sooooooo long to lose weight but nothing ever clicked for me. Until this gut healing program I tried in March.

I had already tried so many other things that shooting to try another nutrition program was really a “just to see, cause maybe it could actually work for me” mentality.
Prior, I had been eating the right foods already, like eating all the veggies, drinking water. Avoiding fried foods, sweets and treats. But for whatever reason the weight didn’t come off. But this one new nutrition plan just CLICKED with my body and mind. It IS THE ONE for me that finally freaking worked!
Yes, I made a couple more changes to the foods I eat but I have zero FOMO, regret or feel like I’m depriving myself of anything. I have a healthier mental relationship with foods too. It’s the first program I’ve been on I don’t feel like cheating on. Or make excuses for o the foods. I’m genuinely choosing different options because I feel so good on the inside and I don’t want to feel like 💩 anymore. (And I thought I was feeling good already!

4 Week Gut Protocol: Round 1 Progress Check


9.3 pounds gone! Hit my GOAL for the month and this program! And making the goal to be under 240 pounds was huge for me. Because for the last 5 years I would always hit 242 and then pause there then BOUNCE right back up. But this time I finally pushed past that pleasure and blew it out of the water!


For the first time ever I don’t have that feeling of “well, I did it. Time to go eat whatever” or feel like I was deprived or missing out. For years this is how I envisioned I would eat and like it and enjoy it. For years I want it to just click and IT’S FINALLY CLICKED.

Maybe it was the game of eating 30+ different plant foods. Or meal prepping, planning. Being super intentional. But what er ever it was it finally clicked and that’s all that matters! Right?

So tomorrow is a new day. Starting the workout program again but continuing on this nutrition journey without change. Because it works!
