Basics:

The 4 Week Gut Protocol and 4 Weeks for Every Body are TWO brand new programs launching together! This information is here to teach you about the programs, why there are two programs included in this launch, and what you can expect!


Did you know that 70% of Americans have undiagnosed food sensitivities? Even if you haven’t noticed your symptoms, everybody can use some extra gut love. Second to the brain, our gut has control over so much of our bodies, both physically and emotionally. Sure, I want to have a healthy gut - but, HOW?


The 4 Week Gut Protocol is a unique, comprehensive nutrition program designed to help promote overall gut health, as well as isolate the most common foods and ingredients that can cause gastric distress and undermine your health and well-being. Taking a month to super focus on my nutrition and track how my body changes with my food changes sounds like the perfect way to kickstart my spring!


But, what about the workouts? That’s where 4 Weeks for Every Body comes in! Yes, you could totally choose to focus on meal prep, clean eating and gut health for 4 weeks - amazing! But exercise is recommended when you take on 4 Week Gut Protocol, it shouldn’t be so rigorous that it interferes with your body’s work in helping your gut.


You’ll need a pair of dumbbells, and a core ball is recommended. For the optional cycling workouts, you’ll need a stationary bike.

Who is Autumn Calabrese?

What equipment is required?

Mini Strawberry Cheesecakes with Gingersnap Crust



If you’re looking for a delicious, easy HEALTHIER treat to celebrate Valentin's Day, then these mini strawberry cheesecakes are going to be your new best friend! Grab your favorite strawberry Shakeology and blend with a surprisingly creamy ricotta cheese + almond milk blend. Serve in wee crunchy gingersnap crusts, add fresh strawberries on top and you’ve got a mouthful of yum in less than 30 minutes.


Mini Strawberry Cheesecakes With Gingersnap Crust


Servings 6 servings


Ingredients

1 cup gingersnap cookies (or graham crackers)

1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp coconut oil

2 scoops Strawberry Whey or Tropical Strawberry Plant-Based Vegan Shakeology

1 cup part-skim ricotta cheese

2 Tbsp. unsweetened almond milk

2 strawberries, sliced


Instructions

Line 6 muffin cups with muffin liners (or use silicone muffin cups); set aside.


Add cookies and oil to a food processor; cover. Pulse to blend.


Press cookie crumble into the bottoms and up the sides of prepared muffin cups; set aside.


Add ricotta cheese, Shakeology, and almond milk to the food processor; cover. Pulse until smooth.


Evenly divide ricotta mixture among prepared muffin cups; top each with a strawberry slice. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving.


Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 day, or freeze for up to 4 days. If frozen, set out at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.


We love the light and fluffy ricotta in this recipe, but think fat-free cream cheese could work as a swap, too! What toppings or ingredients would you add or change?

Non-Dairy Clam Chowder



Looking for a little comfort food? Check out this “Fixed Up” recipe from our nutrition program, Portion Fix! Created by super trainer Autumn Calabrese, Portion Fix takes the complicated out of counting macros and calculates exactly what food groups we need to fit our lifestyle, body type, and goals!


This savory, flavorful Nondairy Clam Chowder is hearty without being heavy, and so easy to make. Our recipe uses four vegetables—onions, celery, potatoes, and turnips— plus flour, chicken stock, and canned clams in broth. It gets even easier because you’ll do it all in one pot. Grab a big spoon and enjoy!


INGREDIENTS:

1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. olive oil

½ cup chopped onion

½ cup chopped celery

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 cups low-sodium organic chicken broth

3 cans chopped clams in juice, drained, juice reserved

1 cup potatoes, chopped into ½-inch cubes

1 cup peeled turnips, chopped into ½-inch cubes

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

2 bay leaves

¼ tsp. sea salt (or Himalayan salt)

¼ tsp. ground black pepper


INGREDIENTS:

1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. 

2. Add onion and celery; cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 5 minutes, or until onion is translucent. Add flour; cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. 

3. Add broth, clam juice, potatoes, turnips, almond milk, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil; gently boil, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes, or until potatoes and turnips are tender. 

4. Add clams; cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Leaving The Mormon Church


 I don't often talk about my faith and religion on here. To be honest after being called out as not being a "faithful enough member" a while ago I really kind of cleaned out all my Mormon from my feed. But It's been a year and a half since my husband and I made the choice to leave the Mormon faith. We both had our own reasons for leaving but it happened at the same time. 

Mine started as community-driven. His was history, or lack of transparency, driven. But it was a choice we didn't take lightly or easily. In fact, I've been in therapy for months about how to process it because I went through a serious bout of depression and anxiety over it. Then covid hit. Covid made it easy to disappear from our ward. My ward didn't care about me anyway, I'm not kidding when I say that. I had zero actual friends. And not from a lack of trying. I threw one game party for the ladies in my ward years ago and one person didn't get invited and a whole other crap happened because of it and I became ostracized. FOR YEARS. I sat alone in the back. And roamed the halls because I never felt wanted or welcome in any of the classes. I have been only going because of my kids. In fact some women thought we moved and didn't even bother to ask or check. So covid made it real easy for me to step back. For my husband, thanks to new podcasts, he learned more about the missing history we were never taught about growing up. Which made him question why they never told us. We both look for reasons to look past, and ignore but ultimately we couldn't follow something that was dishonest with us and our money. (see that was my second thing I had a hard time with.) The tithing money. We have been living paycheck to paycheck, not even we rely on our credit card because we can't afford anything because we obediently gave 10% of our gross income to the church, only to find out in November 2019, the church had amassed over $100BILLION in money, not including how much they own in land and other investments. I started looking at the church as a corporation, a company, and not a religious entity. I get it, everything costs money, but here we were scraping by while the church was sitting on a huge nest egg, for what!?! They barely donate to charity, they don't really help the people locally who need it. They fired all the cleaning people and make the members do the cleaning of all the buildings and temples. I thought they had the members clean because the church didn't have enough to cover it. No, just another way to save money. Oh and leadership gets paid. Even though it's been stated in conference talks that there are no paid clergy. Well, the bishops give a ton of time and don't receive income but the higher ups have multiple perks, but not the higher up women in the church. 


Anyways, this has been brewing and stewing for awhile with me. It is our choice to leave the mormon faith and one that is with a heavy heart. We've finally told our families and as you can imagine it didn't go well for either side. But this is for us. We can't follow blindly anymore. I look forward to our future that we make. That our children make. And my children, when they are adults they are welcome to choose to join the Mormon faith or not. But we won't be pressuring them to get baptized when they turn 8. We want them to make an informed choice. This post is not intended to hurt or damage any person's personal belief. This is just a way for me to move on, and to give transparency,
unlike the church.
