2 months of 80 Day Obsession are DONE! I have done 46 workouts and have moved on to phase 3 workouts. I didn't really think I would see any changes in my body to be honest, because I wasn't "seeing" any when I would look in the mirror. Except for my butt. That thing changes almost daily. It's pretty amazing!

80 Day Obsession Workout Gear: Resistance Loop Bands and Floor Sliders

80 Day Obsession requires 2 new pieces of equipment along with weights. Resistance Loops and Floor sliders. 

Resistance Loops: Sure these things look easy enough, but let me tell you both do amazing things! Resistance loops are used in 80 Day Obsession as a way to provide resistance to help shape, firm and ton your lower body. And some upper body moves too! With the Beachbody Challenge Pack you actually get 6 different loops of varying lengths and resistance levels! And they are super thick. They don't feel like they are going to snap when I'm using them in my full range of motion! They are used in some pretty fun ways to help challenge you and take your results to the next level.

Floor sliders: The floor sliders are used to help strengthen your core and body. Believe it or not, I feel like my shoulders have been strengthened the most in this program using the floor sliders, because we use them in plank position. You will get a total body workout. They can be used either on hard wood or carpet surfaces. Beachbody's sliders come with a black bootie that is used for hard surfaces and just pop it off when you move to carpet!

You Are Worth More Than The Number On A Scale


How many of you have done this: wake up, do a kick ass exercise, follow your meal plan 100% and waking up the next morning, step on the scale and expect to be down at least 5 pounds??? 

Sanity tip: DO NOT get on the scale to see your weight as a reflection of how “good” you did yesterday. For most of us you won’t see a change or it could be a change you view as not good and start to question the whole process. Especially if that was the most food you have eaten in a long time. Just don’t get on the scale. It takes more than one good day of eating right and exercising, in a row, to see a change!!! Trust. The. Process!!! And THROW THAT DAMN SCALE AWAY!

You are worth more than that number on a day to day basis. The scale is only good when checking occasionally otherwise you will go insane trying to win the scale race. It just doesn’t happen. Be consistent. Feed your body the foods it needs. Exercise daily for strength and trust the process that over time the scale will reflect the hard work you are putting in.

80 Day Obsession: Half Way Mark

I'm 40 days / halfway through this 80 Day Obsession program that you have probably been hearing about and honestly, I LOVE IT! The workouts are challenging, but the cast is amazing and helps take your mind off of how hard things are. Totally felt amazing when I was matching the trainer in weight on some of the moves. BADASS for sure! But honestly, I'm feeling amazing. Not only have I made huge progress since I started but I don't even have to think about being consistent with my workouts. They just happen. I know I have 6 workouts a week and I'm doing them. No more inner monologue trying to talk myself out of it. I do it. And that's that.

Stats:
Weight: Lost 2.2 from starting weight
Inches: Lost 6.25 inches total
The nutrition side of it has been more difficult for me. Forgetting containers, missing my timed meals. I haven't been perfect everyday but I am trying. I learned that if I don't put the food on my plate, I'm more than likely to forget to eat it. Like for some meals I have 2 green containers. The second green container is usually 10 baby carrots, but I tend to forget to grab them, or the baby needs me, or I start doing something else and forget completely. So making sure I have everything I need when I sit down to eat is key. When I realized that, things got better!

Push Past The Negativity


When life throws you lemons, just make some lemonade and move on. We all have those times where we are afraid of being judged or looked down on. And this happened last week. When I got a comment on one of my pictures. "That girl isn't fit". On a post specifically about how I knew I didn't fit the "stereotypical" mold for what a fit person looks like, yeah, it was weird. But you know what I realized. I felt sad for that person more than angry, hurt, upset. I had an overwhelming sense of sadness for them. Because most people who comment hurtful things, or not nice things, are jealous or just plain mean. Let's just say the person was the former. I have no idea who that person is or what they look like but what if they were plus size? What if they thought they could not be fit because of their shape or size? That exercise is a losing battle because it will never work for them. Because it never did in the past. They have tried too many times to count and they never reached their goal, or struggled to get there so much that they gave up.

It's ignorant views like this that teach the next generation what qualifies as pretty, fit or popular. I am a FIT PLUS SIZE WOMAN. And I am on a mission to help change the thinking of what is considered "fit". Like Lizzy, that plus size ballerina, or Jessamyn, the plus size yogi

We are breaking the normal /expected/ idolized stereotype. To teach others that we should support and cheer on anyone who is changing their lives and positively influencing thinking for the current and future generations. It's about change and embracing that change. What can you do to change the stereotype of what is healthy, fit and beautiful? Share our message. Share our pages with your friends. Spread the word that "hey, there are inspiring women of all shapes and sizes doing hard things now because they want to." Spread the word.
